To play a joystick game on the keyboard, choose keys for port 2 (most games use it; if yours doesn't respond, press Swap ports). Keys used by a joystick don't type on the C64, so switch them back to No keys for typing. Gamepads work without taking any keys. With the mouse on, click the screen to capture it; Esc releases it.
